Different customers.
Separate containers.
Available in both Nodara and stock Pterodactyl. Nodara also supports reserving a Docker node for one customer.
NODARA / STOCK PTERODACTYL
Familiar hosting essentials. More guided Minecraft recovery. A developing choice between shared containers and an entire native node for one customer.
THE HOSTING MODEL
Isolation for shared hosting. Explicit exclusivity for native execution.
Available in both Nodara and stock Pterodactyl. Nodara also supports reserving a Docker node for one customer.
Nodara is implementing panel-managed native hosting. Stock Wings runs game workloads in Docker; dedicating a machine does not change that execution model. Source 1
Native hosting is not in the published Nodara release. Initial Debian and Ubuntu reboot checks passed; final recovery review, release and security acceptance remain open. Avoiding a Docker game runtime does not eliminate OS/Java overhead or resource limits, and we have no equivalent-workload performance benchmark.
WHERE NODARA ADDS GUIDANCE
Choose reviewed Minecraft profiles, manage worlds and apply curated add-ons through purpose-built workflows with checkpoints. Available within the Docker alpha’s documented limits.
Explore the existing workflowsSaved runtime, selected configuration and JARs can be compared and restored while retaining world progress. Review drift, quarantine extras and keep an undo checkpoint.
Merged · awaiting releaseSee the repair walkthroughReviewed private-release updates and a protected host-repair baseline give operators a documented route through maintenance and recovery.

Stock upstream Pterodactyl 1.x, without third-party extensions. This is a feature/workflow comparison, not a security or speed ranking.
| What you need | Nodara | Stock Pterodactyl |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday hosting | Console, files/SFTP, backups, schedules, customer permissions and managed databases. | These fundamentals are also built in. They are not exclusive Nodara advantages. 2, 3 |
| Minecraft recovery guidance | Dedicated runtime/world/add-on workflows; selective installation repair is merged but unreleased. | Provides files, startup settings, reinstall and backup restore. The reviewed client routes do not expose Nodara’s selective baseline/undo workflow; manual procedures or extensions can add other workflows. 2 |
| Panel maintenance | Owner-reviewed private-release updates and protected host repair, with documented recovery. | Official operator-driven upgrade procedure. Automation can be added externally. 4 |
| Bots and applications | Git-commit deployments, health checks and rollback are being implemented; not in the published release. | Can run Node.js/Python bots and other workloads through suitable eggs and images. Custom deployment scripts and proxy configuration can extend the setup. 1, 5 |
| Native game execution | Exclusive-node Vanilla backend under development. Shared customers retain Docker isolation. | Stock Wings uses Docker for game execution, including on a machine dedicated to one customer. 1, 3 |
| Maturity and breadth | Private development alpha, Minecraft-focused, SQLite and one worker. Pilot and security gates remain. | Established upstream ecosystem, MIT-licensed panel and broad game/egg coverage. Prefer it when those are your primary requirements. 1, 5 |
CHECK THE EVIDENCE
Nodara’s published baseline is v0.4.0-alpha.1. Development work is labeled separately. Pterodactyl 2.0 pre-release and third-party extensions are outside this versioned comparison.
