v0.6.0-beta.40 · Updated 22 October 2026
Release and delivery
These are the release notes for Nodara v0.6.0-beta.40, for people who want the detail. Setting Nodara up? Start with the installation guide instead: it lists what you need and walks you through each step.
Nodara is software you install on a server you supply.
New in v0.6.0-beta.40
- Clearer Administration overview: problems that need attention first, then a card per node (a machine Nodara manages) with memory and CPU allocated against capacity, shared or dedicated, and its last connection check, followed by customer, server and free-memory totals, recent activity and the operations queue.
- Edit a node: raise or lower a node's usable memory and CPU cores, change its name, address, ports and agent URL, or rotate its agent token. Nodara refuses capacity below what is already allocated.
- Redesigned server page: a header themed by game with the server's status, address and power buttons, the console, resources, quick actions and a live usage chart on one screen. The server's sections move into the sidebar.
- Redesigned Backups page: create a backup beside the list of recovery points, with Restore and Delete on each row, a slot meter and your scheduled backups.
- Visible upgrade progress: while an update installs, the Updates page shows each step (prepare, pause, back up, install, update the database, restart), says when the panel is restarting and reconnects by itself, then shows the result. Anyone who opens the panel meanwhile sees a "Nodara is updating" page that reloads itself.
- Clearer server controls: Start, Restart and Stop follow the server's state, the console shows each line's time once, and reinstall and delete move to a new Settings tab.
- Customer passwords: administrators can set a new password for a customer from Customers, confirmed with their own password; the customer is signed out everywhere.
- Plan features: forms for features your plan does not include are shown locked, with a link to the plans, instead of failing after you submit.
- Phones: server tabs scroll in one row and tables scroll sideways.
- Yearly licenses: the panel accepts the new yearly plans (paid upfront, twelve months, manual renewal). Update to this release before buying or renewing yearly.
- Large mods such as Create install: mod JARs with more than 10,000 files are accepted (up to 65,535).
- More Forge and NeoForge packs install: library JARs such as Kotlin for Forge and jar-in-jar containers are accepted, and a JAR the server can't load is refused during review, by name, before the server is stopped.
- Forge and NeoForge packs on started servers: a pack no longer fails review because the server already created its
config/fml.tomlorneoforge-*.toml; your existing files are kept and listed in the review. - Bigger and more modpacks: Modrinth pack archives up to 256 MiB, and packs pinned to an older Forge, NeoForge or Fabric Loader build now install on a server running a newer build in the same line. Bedrock servers can now be created (fixed in beta.18).
- Nests and eggs: create servers the Pterodactyl way, choosing a nest (a group of server types: Java Edition, proxies or Bedrock Edition), an egg (a ready-made server setup) and an exact version. New eggs: Folia, Quilt, Velocity and Bedrock Dedicated Server, plus Minecraft 1.16.5 (Java 8), 1.20.4 (Java 17) and 26.3 (Java 25). Each server has a Startup tab. See Software & content.
- Newer Forge and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1: Forge 52.1.20 and NeoForge 21.1.264 are available for new servers, and existing Forge/NeoForge servers can switch from their Software tab, so current mods (for example JEI) run.
- Incompatible mods are refused before anything changes. When a Hangar or CurseForge mod needs a newer Forge, NeoForge or Fabric Loader than your server runs, the review says so (for example "needs NeoForge 21.1.238 or newer; this server runs 21.1.219") instead of stopping the server and rolling the change back.
- CurseForge mods that bundle their libraries install cleanly (for example JEI): a required library already inside the mod is no longer installed twice, and if a change is refused after Nodara stopped the server, the server is started again.
- Forge and NeoForge servers start again. A change in the Minecraft server image made new Forge/NeoForge servers stop during startup; existing ones are repaired automatically the next time they start.
- Fixes: the Plugins/Mods page no longer shows an error while a server is starting, the install dialog counts only real dependencies, folders get a folder icon, and an oversized modpack says its size and the 32 MiB limit.
- Retry works after a restart: retrying a failed plugin or mod change now stops the server first when needed, instead of getting stuck.
- Fixes from beta.9: the update helper now refreshes itself after an upgrade on nginx installs (so Check for updates keeps working), and a one-click install no longer stops a server while its last change is still waiting for a successful first start.
- One-click plugins and mods. Players browse Modrinth, Hangar and CurseForge from the server's Plugins or Mods page and install in one click; Nodara picks a version that matches the server, adds required dependencies, stops and restarts the server, and rolls the change back if the first start fails.
- Every file is verified. Downloads come only from each source's own CDN and are checked against a SHA-512 recorded when the install is reviewed.
- CurseForge uses your own free API key: run
sudo nodara-update set-curseforge-keyonce. Modrinth and Hangar need no key.
Earlier in the v0.6 beta: app-address edge hardening and a Content-Security-Policy, a separate administration area, free app addresses for websites, updates from the panel with your license, a familiar server page, owners can delete their servers, applications work out of the box, Minecraft servers start reliably on fresh installs, Ubuntu 24.04 support and a redesigned panel.
An installed v0.6.0-beta.6 updates from Updates (under the gear in the panel). An installed v0.6.0-beta.5 updates to beta.6 first, then runs sudo nodara-update enable-app-addresses once. An installed v0.6.0-beta.3 or beta.4 first upgrades to beta.5: run curl -fsSL https://nodarapanel.com/update-helper.py | sudo python3, then sudo nodara-update upgrade.
What this release includes
This beta includes Java 21 Docker runtimes for Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, pinned Minecraft 1.21.1/1.21.4 builds, and supported Modrinth plugins, mods and restricted formatVersion 1 packs. Review exact software and content limits. Native execution is optional, separately commissioned on a fresh exclusive node, and Vanilla-only; the single-VM installer does not enable it.
Runtime boot checks reaching an EULA gate and automated transaction checks do not establish gameplay, third-party compatibility or load capacity. Validate representative workloads, public/private HTTPS, scheduled license refresh and independent restores at your site.
Register, save, then sign in
When available, Continue with Discord creates or signs in to a separate Discord customer account. Recover that identity through Discord. Keep using your original password sign-in to access existing password-account licenses: sign-in methods do not link or combine licenses. Discord requests identity only, without email, and never grants website admin access.
Create your customer account, save the one-time recovery code, then sign in with your password. Usernames are case-insensitive. Once you confirm an email address in Account settings you can reset your password by email; otherwise use the saved recovery code. Recovery and password change replace the code and revoke existing sessions. Keep this identity separate from the installed panel users/MFA and the website owner account.
The customer panel shows available monthly/lifetime licenses, eligible coupon previews, payment status and private activation details after sign-in. Review original price, discount and payable total before paying. A license is issued only after your payment is confirmed. A closed or ambiguous payment window is not proof of failure: refresh status before trying again. No GST is collected. Monthly renewal is manual; lifetime use includes 12 months of updates/support. Read terms and refunds.
Receive your private source bundle
After your payment is confirmed, open Your licenses and choose Download installer. Access is checked against your signed-in account and paid release entitlement on every download. The card shows the SHA-256 to verify after download. If delivery fails, contact support with your order reference; never send passwords, recovery codes or activation secrets. The digital delivery policy applies.
The archive nodara-v0.6.0-beta.40-customer.tar.gz includes README-CUSTOMER.md, public license verification configuration, DELIVERY.json and a clean single-commit Git snapshot. Follow the installation guide. Delivery does not grant vendor repository access.
The archive records its source inventory in DELIVERY.json. Installation and repair use the distinct customer snapshot identity; the archive includes no vendor Git history.
Install and activate
Use a fresh dedicated Debian 13 or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS VM and follow the installation guide. Run python3 -B -m scripts.install_onprem from the root-owned extracted bundle. The installer loads public verification settings and starts the panel in restricted mode. Sign in, open /app/license/, and enter your purchased license ID and private activation secret. Activation unlocks your plan and registers this server as your first node. License refresh is installed and enabled automatically every 15 minutes.
Software delivery and activation are separate; neither supplies infrastructure. Existing installations must request reviewed upgrade instructions. Do not rerun the fresh installer or use vendor credentials. See maintenance and update delivery limits.
Future products
One-click plugin and mod installs are already part of every plan. Custom-made plugins, mods and other one-time products are planned; the customer panel lists them under Later: extra products. No prices, release dates or purchase controls are available for them.
